CIRCLING BACK
We’re living through history. It’s happening faster than anyone can write down. Mutiple threads. Multiple subplots. Countless characters. It’s everything everywhere all at once. (Great movie, by the way.)
Earlier this year, Circ Ular was a prototype course and online men’s circle. Here’s what I’ve taken away:
The “mythic” look and feel is perfect for archetypal work.
It leands weight—and lightness—to the shamanic descent.
Circ Ular’s low cost/low commitment model made it hard to sustain momentum.
Never underestimate production times.
There are important differences between men’s circles and coaching programmes.
Men need spaces to talk about stuff. Some need to feel that they’re going somewhere.
I’m more into going somewhere than hanging out.
To go where we need to go—the depths—we need commitment.
I enjoy working with women, and women like the work.
So where does that get us?
It gets me to a place of deeper alignment.
And that’s a place I’d like us all to be. Men and women.
And the beauty of depth is that something more powerful always emerges.
Like Earthsee.
Let’s not kid around: the first journey into Earthsee is a descent.
It’s where we have to go if we are to incarnate all the way and take our places as sovereign men and women.
The history going on? That’s the signal. Nothing less than full being is going to work.
This is shamanism. This is alchemy. And it’s not all love and light.
You need to be self-motivated. Nobody can pull you all the way. You will have to stand in the fire—in the crucible—until you crack. And if that sounds heavy, it is. And isn’t.
This is where creativity shines a light.
This is why Earthsee. It’s where alchemy meets art, and imagination lifts the heart beyond the clutches of the self.
We need courage to go into our depths.
And the mythic reward—the alchemical gold—isn’t metallic or folding stuff. That may come later but trust me, you won’t care. The real deal is the liquid gold that spills from the heart when it cracks.
You feel an ecstasy—ex stasis—an exit from the stasis of the self—not out there but in here.
Involve, the Earthseer initiation, is about turning inwards like never before.
Down there, in the centre, is your crown. Reclaiming it is sovereignty.
The second part is the ascent.
What goes down must come up. Having claimed your crown, what will you do with it? What will you do for others—with all this history going on?
Evolve, the upwards and outwards journey, is where your sovereign self gets to fire on all four Elemental cylinders for the greater good.
Air—genuine inspiration
Fire—fierce courage and determination
Water—emotional depth that magnetises flow
Earth—the form & structure leadership.
The alchemical process is essentially the same as for Involve.
But this time the goal is not sovereignty but service.
This is where the wind hits the sails, where the mast must flex and the hull hold firm.
Working with others you will discover synergies, make friends, allies, affiliates, afficionados.
Maybe you will combine forces.
